ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting and varied role that will use your skills as a writer to create compelling copy to describe our customers’ businesses so that we can design beautiful descriptive websites.
All our clients and their businesses are different. Your job is to interview business owners over the phone and then write up great copy.
Your questioning and subsequent content, will capture what they do as well as their passion for their business in a structured way that makes it easy for our designers to build a great website.
You will be part of a dedicated design team of 6 website designers and 2 content writers. It is an incredibly varied and fast-paced role and you will be expected to create over 25 pieces of content per month.
The office is young, fun, busy, friendly, talented and incredibly helpful. We all share in the excitement and success of the team and the growth of the business. There is no dress code, no egos and you are free to put on headphones and listen to whatever helps you concentrate.
You will be based in our Caterham offices. It would be handy if you lived close.
First and foremost, you are a competent, talented writer who enjoys writing. You find it easy to produce succinct, readable, eloquent, logical copy, QUICKLY. You are inquisitive and confident and enjoy chatting to customers. You like the idea of exploring and learning about a very wide variety of businesses. You have an enquiring mind. You are an empathetic ‘chameleon’. You are good at extracting the passion our clients have for their business and then putting yourself ‘in their shoes’ when writing content for their websites.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
You will have proven English writing skills and a good ‘essay’ based degree from a good University.
You should have at least two years’ experience writing or editing content, perhaps as a journalist, a copywriter or in an editing capacity.
If your previous roles involved you conducting interviews and then writing summaries, this would be exceptionally valuable.
