Working for a manufacturer of bespoke corporate signage, the company is looking for a part-time (3 days a week) permanent IT Manager who can support the IT Infrastructure, mainly focusing on Servers, Desktops, Laptops, LAN, Telephone Systems, Mobile Devices and a variety of Software.
There will be cases where you'll need to update the website and other applications where beneficial or asked for to help drive continuous improvements and making the company run more efficiently. Someone that can help with recommending and designing solutions, obtaining quotes for new hardware/software. You will be the sole IT professional reporting to the Managing Director.
-Maintain the company servers and ensure they are running correctly periodically to provide a stable and reliable platform for the business and assist with improving processes in these areas.
-Maintain the network infrastructure, ensuring smooth running and suggesting improvements/upgrades/network monitoring tools etc.
-Support the servers and other server software used internally.
-Provide front-line support for the current software used within the company.
-Create ad-hoc applications in Microsoft Access for internal requests.
-Support existing in-house applications created in Microsoft Access.
-Ensure backups are working successfully on a daily basis.
-Ensure security requirements are met to protect data and systems from viruses.
-Setup of new users on their systems and provide any required IT equipment for new starters.
-Support for the internal staff of all levels.
-Any other IT related query/issue that may arise.
Qualifications and experience required:
Previous experience in running the IT function in a SME.
Suitable IT qualifications.
-Organisational skills - ability to manage own workload effectively ensuring key responsibilities are met as well as departmental workload.
-Interpersonal skills - ability to express ideas in a clear and persuasive manner and adapt communication to suit the audience. Willingness to listen and respect others’ ideas and have a good understanding of other’s needs.
-Technical knowledge – understanding of the current IT software used in the company, as well as an awareness of new technologies that may help the business in the future.
