We’re recruiting for 2 neighbourhood officers, contractually based in Basingstoke but covering patches in North Hampshire (mostly Aldershot, Godalming, Farnborough & surrounding areas). Both roles are full time, permanent positions working 37 hours per week. These are flexible working positions, meaning you’ll not be office based and will mostly be travelling across designated patches. Therefore, you need to have a full current driving licence with access to a vehicle. Mileage for part of your travel will be reimbursed – please view the attached guidelines for further information.

As a neighbourhood officer, you’ll manage a patch of mixed-tenure properties within your geographical area. You’ll be the single point of contact for all customers within your patch. Ensuring our customers have someone they know who they can approach about a range of matters in relation to lease/tenancy conditions, health and safety issues, rent/service charges, repairs and more.

The aim will be to help create attractive, safe and sustainable neighbourhoods for our customers to live in. Also making sure we offer quality and ‘value for money’ services. You’ll get to know and understand who our customers are and the support they may need to keep their tenancies. You’ll achieve this by collecting customer insight data and auditing tenancies. You’ll recognise when to appropriately make referrals to the tenancy support team and follow the progress of those referrals. This’ll ensure that arrangements can be made and monitored effectively to keep and maintain tenancies.

You’ll bring a wealth of knowledge and experience within a housing management role, in particular around housing legislation and welfare reform & benefits. A professional qualification (CIH, NVQ) would be really handy but isn’t essential.
