We’re Hampshire’s largest provider of affordable homes with around 850 staff. Providing quality affordable homes is only part of what we do! As a ‘people’ business, we work hard to create a high profile, fun, friendly working environment, recruiting high level expertise and investing in our staff’s development, whilst looking after their wellbeing.
We’re recruiting for an income recovery officer based in Basingstoke on a part-time time, permanent basis, working 25.5 hours per week. We’ll try to be flexible on the working pattern, though ideally the hours will be worked daily (Fridays are a must).
As an income recovery officer, you’ll provide a proactive and effective approach to recovering outstanding rent and other charges. Including recording contacts, agreements and referrals, and ensuring that customers are provided with the right support that they need.
You’ll gain a good understanding of who our customers are and the support that they may need to sustain their tenancies, so that eviction is always the last resort. You’ll develop a good knowledge of benefits and understand how they’re paid and managed. And make sure the business & customer impacts are understood as part of the arrears process.
You’ll have a good working relationship with various teams such as neighbourhoods and tenancy support. As well as developing connections with external partners and agencies who help us to provide the right level of support to our customers. This includes housing options and homelessness teams to meet the needs of our customers.
You’ll bring your wealth of experience in debt recovery and awareness/understanding of the social housing sector. Also your effective communication and relationship building skills which will help you to succeed in this role.
If successfully shortlisted, you’ll be contacted and asked to record some interview questions via video on the recruitment system to complete by the end of the day on 25 April. And if you’re successful after this, you’ll be invited to an interview which will be held on 7 May 2019.
