Fantastic opportunity for a head chef to join a local independent pub company.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and organised head chef to take over an already well organised and busy kitchen at a family friendly local pub.

We require someone with a passion for fresh food, an ability to work efficiently under pressure, and most of all a team player to fit in with our friendly team. You will need to lead the team and be able to manage GP’s and control your wage percentage to a set budget. Menus change with the seasons, and the role requires someone who can continually introduce fresh and exciting new menu ideas, produce accurate costings, and train the team to cook everything to a consistent standard and presentation.

We are very family friendly, and want to be a venue which welcomes the whole family, but doesn’t compromise on fresh food quality. We require a head chef who has ideas on how to not only create exciting menus for the adults, but make the adults want to return by offering fresh and interesting dishes that their children want to eat as well.

The site offers food all day, every day with a core menu, alongside regularly changing specials, and it also caters for a variety of functions incorporating buffets, set menus, and BBQ parties. We also serve up to 200 Sunday roasts each week, and the head chef will be encouraged to bring fresh ideas to keep people coming back for more each week.
The pub seats up to 125 people indoors, and an extra 130 in the garden, so as well as fresh menus from the kitchen, there are lots of opportunities to take ideas outdoors and cook in the garden in the summer.

Head chef requirements:

Min 18 months experience as a Head Chef, or Sous Chef in a similar kitchen.
Have a passion for fresh food, and enjoy the pressures of a busy kitchen.
Enjoy creating new dishes including full costing and dish specifications.
Be creative, and have the ability to create menus that fit with the current market trends.
Able to control stock management, and achieve set GP targets.
Good communicator with ability to work well with teams in all areas of the business.
Be a great leader, trainer, and motivator, creating a happy environment in the kitchen.
Current level 3 food hygiene certificate.
Ability to maintain a 5 star hygiene rating with a full understanding of kitchen hygiene legislation.

Salary up to £35k OTE dependant on experience, including quarterly bonus based on set financial targets, 5 weeks paid holiday
