We were founded in 2016 after winning the Scottish Higgs EDGE 2016 for its development of a transformation (patent pending) Graphene layer manufacturing process for an unlimited number of applications. We design for manufacture (DfM) process creates 3D graphene in seconds enabling high volume manufacture at significantly reduced cost and therefore removing the barrier to commercialisation.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on Electronics and Software Engineer to join an expanding R&D team who are designing and developing energy storage, WSN and diagnostic products that make a real difference to people’s lives around the world. You will bring the hardware and software Engineering expertise to the team. For this role you should have proven electronic design experience within a safety critical industry sector with experience throughout the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:
Building prototype devices always having design for high volume manufacture in mind
Become the internal expert in the hardware and software design for colleagues, customers and manufacturers
Gather, analyse, interpret and present data
Lead the development of new and existing systems including testing, manufacturing, assembly methods, QC and materials
Evaluating electrical components and applications by designing and conducting development programs; and applying knowledge of electronic systems and materials
Design of products and system features
Ensure safe operation of all process associated equipment

The candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Relevant degree in engineering
Analogue & Digital (Mixed Signal Design) Microcontroller or Microprocessor experience
Wireless communication protocol experience (BLE, Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee)
Embedded C programming
A clear enthusiasm and drive for new technologies
An understanding of medical device or wireless sensor network technology
Previous experience within an R&D/electronics engineering environment
Exposure to testing, developing and qualifying electronics

An understanding of medical safety standards would be beneficial but not essential

The candidate should:
Be highly resourceful, curious and proud to solve challenges
Willing and able to occasionally travel
Have a start-up mentality and enjoying work in a small team
