Our small but growing team of metalworkers, designers and craftspeople are seeking a Design Engineer / 3D Draftsperson. We’re looking for a candidate with the right attitude, who shares our passion for working hard towards exciting goals. The role will be full time and salaried, the hours being Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm.
The right candidate should
+ Be passionate about engineering, design and manufacturing.
+ Be technically-minded, with strong problem solving ability.
+ Have an understanding of basic metalworking principles, experience in furniture design and manufacturing is a huge advantage.
+ Be highly organised, thorough, and not shy of a little admin.
+ Be willing to take instruction from company management, but to also be proactive and self motivated.
+ Have strong drawing ability. SolidWorks proficiency is a huge advantage but not essential. Training will be given to the right candidate. As a minimum the candidate should have competency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
+ Must be able to communicate ideas effectively via hand sketching.
+ Preferably be proficient in Adobe InDesign.
+ Have excellent email and telephone etiquette and be comfortable communicating with clients and suppliers.
+ Possess a full UK driving licence and have own car.
+ Be happy to get their hands dirty when required.
