We are a busy technical service company in a fast paced, quick response environment and are currently looking to fill a temporary role in Accounts due to maternity leave. The post will be for up to 12 months.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the accounting and financial requirements of the company including reporting to the management team. This is a self-supporting role and therefore prior experience of Sage is essential. As in all small businesses, being a team player and having a degree of flexibility is essential so that we continue to meet our clients’ and the company’s needs.
Role Description & Requirements:
Day to day operations of an accounting department
Cash flow forecasting and credit control using Excel
Job Costings Reports together with margin & mark-up calculations
Knowledge of working with foreign currencies
Experience of processing online sales including PayPal is preferred
Working knowledge of UK & EU VAT including submitting VAT returns & EC Sales Lists
Stock Valuations using FIFO method
Maintain Nominal Ledger and knowledge of journals
What you'll need to succeed:
You will need solid background in accounting with preferably 2 years minimum Sage experience and preferably qualified to AAT level 3 or equivalent.
Advanced Excel skills are preferable, especially formatting and use of formulas.
Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
You should be organised and communicate effectively on all levels.
Be positive, flexible and adaptable with a 'can-do' attitude to overcoming challenges.
You should be able to multitask, manage your own work load and help others during busy periods.
This is a flexible role for 15 hours per week workable over 2-3 days between 9am - 5pm.
Salary £25,000- £28,000 pro rata dependent on experience
