Role 1-BANK Rehab Assistant/ Support Worker:
We are recruiting an enthusiastic and caring rehab assistant/support worker who has experience of working with young adults with additional needs. This is an ideal role for someone interested in brain injury rehabilitation, psychology, occupational therapy or physiotherapy. You will be working with an out-going, adventurous young lady, aged 16 years, who has Cerebral Palsy.
You will be responsible for enabling the client to lead a fulfilling social life, appropriate to a girl of her age, including enabling development of social skills, enabling the client to develop and maintain meaningful friendships, assisting in researching, planning, booking and taking part in fun activities with friends, weekend day trips, longer trips around the UK and trips abroad. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with activities of daily living, including personal care, maximising the client’s physical and psychological well-being, and maintaining safety at all times.
- Relevant experience relating to the key goals of the role.
- Responsible, trustworthy and very reliable
- Confident, creative and independent, with ability to take the initiative and work alone.
- Outgoing, fun adventurous personality, who can provide good company and who will enjoy talking with the client and taking part in planned activities.
- Ability to work using IT for email and support worker documentation.
The bank support worker will be required to cover shifts as required, staff holidays and sickness. They should be flexible and willing to deal with the day to day needs of the family.
Role 2-Temporary Support Worker:
You will be responsible for supporting the client to engage in valuable vocational/voluntary roles following completion of her GCSE's over the summer. This is a temporary role but there may be opportunity to continue in a bank support role after the summer. The role will include ensuring the client is able to engage with tasks necessary to facilitate and succeed in her placements, enabling development of work and social skills, enabling the client to develop and maintain meaningful friendships, and assisting in researching roles and opportunities.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 15.00pm. The post will commence June 11th and finish 3rd September.
